Kurt Vonnegut: Breakfast of Champions

Vondr told me this book was fascinating as long ago as the end of the 80s. I read several Vonnegut’s books since then but only managed to get hold of this one in 2009 – to find out he was right.

Yesterday I finished reading it for a second time, and my suspicion that this is one of the three best Vonnegut’s books I’ve read was confirmed. Kilgore Trout’s stories, breaking the fourth wall (or rather, razing it to the ground), typically Vonnegutish side-splitting remarks, observations and ideas with his quiet unostentatious humanity undernearth, ETC.

And the end is just perfect. It’s so perfect that it raises gooseflesh…
