Oldest osprey back at Loch of Lowes

The osprey which has already nested at the Loch of the Lowes reserve near Dunkeld twenty-one times, thought to be the oldest UK breeding female of the species, is back from Africa and expected to try yet again.

After her lucky recovery last year I often watched the Scottish Wildlife Trust online live footage of her nest as the fledglings were about to leave it. The camera is there this year as well.

 
ETA, 12/6/11: Sadly, none of the eggs hatched:

Those posts are of 7/6, but I’ve kept checking daily through the webcamera and to date there was no surprise.
